Macallan Amber 40%vol

Speyside, Single Malt Scotch Whisky Distillery Bottling

This amber spirit is polite, almost apologetic at first, with a floral, citrus sweet nose that gains presence, commanding a chorus of sweet vanilla notes over freshly harvested grain. Raisin, sultana and cinnamon look on as toffee apples and candy floss step into the limelight. On the palate, fresh green apples and lemons mingle with cinnamon. Ginger notes hover as fruit takes over, with subtle oak lingering in the wings. The finale is light to medium, with soft fruits and cereal, slightly dry.

Aultmore of the Foggie Moss, 12 years old 46% vol

Speyside, Single Malt Scotch Whisky Distillery Bottling

The 12 year old Aultmore single malt Scotch whisky, unveiled in 2014 for the Last Great Malts by Dewar’s. A refreshing dram, with plenty of vanilla, honey and citrus, alongside a touch of grassiness. It’s been quite a while since a distillery bottling of Aultmore has been released.
Fairly sweet caramel aftertaste with a nice punch to it. Would definitely recommend this single malt scotch for novices and whiskey lovers alike. A higher proof non chill filtered and no color added. Just agood ole green apples and honey Speyside. Very smooth and excellent in taste.

Aultmore is located in the Speyside region of Scotland, between the towns of Keith and Fochabers. It sits in a small hollow known locally at ‘The Foggie Moss’.  The distillery was founded in 1896 by Alexander Edward, who also owned the Benrinnes and had co-founded Craigellachie, although production did not begin until 1897. The name is derived from Allt Mòr, the water source for the distillery, and this translates as ‘big stream’ from Gaelic.

Character: Vanilla, Pear, Apple, Custard
